Wednesday Word: Feed My Lambs

It’s another Wednesday Word. This feature has been the most liked on the blog. I don’t know if it’s the video or my commentary or both. Whatever it is, I’m glad it’s touching you. Let’s get to the video:

Wow. You know, I needed that video. I’ve told you my stories of how I tend to run away from God’s calling on my life to serve in various areas of my church. Aaron here talks about Peter denied being with Jesus. In so many ways, we as Christians tend to hide the fact that we are His followers.

Why?

Fear of being ridiculed. Fear of being rejected.

We need to stop.

We need to be proud of whose we are. God loved us enough to send His only Son and we can’t tell somebody that we accepted this fact? Jesus said be would face trials and sorrows as His followers. We knew what this was, for the most part. Perhaps some of us were not counting on us being the ones persecuted. Is it human nature? We want all of the benefits, but not willing to put up with some of the setbacks that come with it?

We have been called to spread the news, like Jesus said in the passage Aaron read. We have been called to bring new disciples. Someone had to talk to you. Someone had to lead you to Christ. Quite frankly, “what comes around goes around” needs to be one of our mission statements. Let’s not be ashamed of Jesus. The world is evil. It doesn’t want to hear His name.

There’s always a hush when we mention Him. Guess what? I don’t care. Considering that the United States of America is one of few countries that offer freedom of religion, Americans almost have no excuse to hide. We don’t have much excuse to be silent. What good is a voice and we just sit around and do nothing with it? Fuel it. Fuel the voice. What good is a car with no gas?

Yeah, I’m talking to myself here. I know I gotta build a voice.

On the flip side, don’t let the enemy try to tell you that any effort you make is insignificant. For one thing, don’t limit God’s power. Just a simple statement can go a long way. Sometimes, we don’t even know we’re blessing and helping people. All you have to do is live a life Jesus would like us to live. In that sense, if we’re living for God, everything else will fall into place.

You think people will take your spirituality seriously if you’re spending Friday nights in the strip club? Probably not.

We do what we can, and God takes care of the rest. Remember that. And don’t worry about what others are doing. We all “feed lambs” in our own special way in accordance to what God has instructed and equipped us for. “What might be good for you may not be good for some”.

Alright, I’ll settle down. Thanks for watching and reading.
