Yo, this is like a semi-rant. Let’s hang in there.
It seems like recently, people make these statements about stuff. And yet, when you ask them the details, it’s “Well, I don’t know” or “She said…”
In this modern age, we are able to Google or, if you’re like me, Bing our questions and find an answer for the most part.
I remember this girl heard about how my Sixers beat the Miami Heat. If you’re an NBA fan, you probably know that the Heat are champions and the Sixers SUCK. She went on about how that game’s result is why the NBA is fake and how college basketball is better. Okay, your opinion.
But she didn’t know that the Heat sat out their stars for the game. Oh.
See, find stuff out. Ask. Don’t come to a conclusion before finding out the facts. Jesus.
You’re gonna sound like a big fool in a couple of ways:
- Before the entire story comes out, you make a bold statement about the situation. Then the facts come out, and you either look like you’re stubborn because you don’t want to look like you’re wrong, or you go to next point.
- You look like you have no opinion…like you have no mind of your own. Whatever you hear is whatever it is. You’re like a leaf in the wind. Don’t be the wind’s b-tch.
If most of us take the time to look up stuff before deciding what is right or wrong or whatever, we end up in a better position.
I could go on about the methods of research, but that’s not fit for this post. Maybe another day
