Dante’s Opinion: Should I Tell My Girlfriend to Get A Boob Job?

Question:

Should i tell me girlfriend to get a boob job? me girlfriend has the itty bitties and i’m a big boob kinda guy in fact it’s my biggest turn on to see a big set of jugs. so as u can tell i’m not that attractd to me girlfriend because of this.

First of all, we need to talk about the grammar. Oy!

I warn my sisters of people like you. I strive to make sure I personally don’t reach this mindset.

The problem here is not your girlfriend’s boobs. The problem is that you’re not attracted to a person. A nasty soul with big boobs is better than someone with great character and…not so big boobs? That’s what it sounds like to me. You want plastic? I think I’ll keep the girl as real as possible. I want her as she is. If I don’t like what I see, let me find it. Let her be her.

I have five sisters, one of them early teens, one late teens, and two early twenties. I can’t imagine how they would feel if some dude that they liked decided their boobs were too small. The self esteemed destroyed…sigh…would be hard to repair.

But, oops, let me get to your question, bro. No, you should not tell her to do that. You should not tell her to do anything with HER body. I’ll take a seat now.

Blogging Shifts

As I continue my blogging journey, I realize some things work out and others fail.

Let’s talk.

As you may have noticed, Dante’s Opinion has made a return. I’m hoping to keep it daily. I am also hoping to create a weekly post that is basically in the same format as Daily Good Stuff. No, it’s not going to be called Weekly Good Stuff.

I’m making this blog…hoo boy..this blog is named after me and so will the featured posts. Dante’s Opinion is the original name and theme of this blog so that’s easy to explain. But yeah, this weekly feature will be Dante’s “something”. I just have to figure out what that something is.

Those are additions. Now, for the subtractions. I think I’m going to shut down Dante’s Funny World. For one thing, since I’m bringing back the daily good stuff type of posts, which consisted of funny material, it makes no sense to have two places doing the same thing.

I am also probably going to shut down Dante Ball. This site was about professional athletes named Dante. This is a big maybe because I may have a change of heart in the next month or so. We’ll see.

Dante’s Opinion: Pick a career that you love or that pays more?

Question:

I am going to start school next month and I am stuck between wanted be be a professorial animal groomer and eventually start my own business (Thats what I really want to do) But my husband doesn’t like that at all, he is pushing me to do medical transcription so I can work from home and be home with our son and get paid more. He does have a point, but I know I wouldn’t be happy doing it. Am I selfish for wanting to pick the least paying job?

There are sides to this.

People get a job for the money, but can end up unhappy. Depression in the workplace is very real. To be stressed doing a job you don’t care about vs what you love doing…at least enjoy the work, ya know?

Then again, if the job isn’t all that well paying, you may have to consider letting go of that love or find another one.

Concerning your specific situation, from what I can tell, work from home jobs don’t really work out. That’s not to say it can’t this time, but I wouldn’t bank on it.

People love their pets. Animals are big. Starting your own business is something I would go after. Just make sure you take plenty of business courses along the way. Keep an eye out for expanding into all things animal to broaden your reach.

As for the general debate of doing what you love, or doing what pays more, I’ll probably share in another post. Maybe.

Dante’s Opinion: What Do You Think of These Names for A Girl?

Question of the day:

What do you think of these names for a girl? 1. Sheila 2. Katey 3. Katie 4. Kyshia 5. Trixie 6. LaWanda 7. LaQueefa 8. Urelia 9. Nu’Tella Please and thank you, God Bless
Okay then.
  1. That’s a nice name. Might be my favorite.
  2. I like this; but I always preferred “Katie”…if that’s how you pronounce this.
  3. Oh…uh, so yeah. I named a character in one of my plays after this. She was a bad person in it, but I like this name.
  4. What?
  5. Eh…I mean, it’s alright.
  6. Stop.
  7. Please stop.
  8. I…I don’t know how to say that.
  9. This sounds like a food product.

Overall, this list is uh…

Options 1-3 seem like very good names. Five is cool too. But 6-9 is a mess.

Talking About My Spiritual Gifts

For the past few years, I’ve been paying attention to my spiritual gifts.

Let’s talk about what these things are.

To keep it simple, when we accept Jesus into our lives, we receive the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit brings fruit and gifts. Everybody receives the fruit (or is capable of it) but the gifts are different. Nobody gets all of them and you only have perhaps 2-3. Of course, there is no real rule when it comes to what God wants to do.

Anyway, a spiritual gift is essentially viewed in a few ways:

  • Spiritual personality. Basically, the gifts you have help shape who you are, especially as a child of God.
  • “Superpowers”. In a way, you can view these as special abilities. Some people can heal. Some people can teach. Others can sense evil.
  • Calling. Sometimes, God gives you a gift and wants you to excel with that gift. So, a teacher may be called to be a great professor or something. Somewhere along the line, your gift generally leads to what you should be doing with your life. Specifically, God may desire for you to be worldly compensated as you use your gift in your career.

With all of that said, it’s not easy to figure out what gifts you have, sometimes. Sometimes, you can just tell from life experiences. Other times, others see it in you. Other times, perhaps God directly informs you of it.

Now-a-days, you can take quizzes (just like a personality quiz) to get an idea of what gifts you have. One quiz I took, several times, lists your top three results. Since I am a man of three nipples, as well as a fan of the holy trinity of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, I happen to liken the list of results.

Let me link you to the quiz I took. Go there to see the gifts and descriptions. Take the test yourself as well.

My top three results were always Discernment, Administration, and Serving/Ministering. Administration was number one twice, I think. Discernment was top once. It’s been years and sometimes I change answers but still get the same general results.

Anyway, I’m going to talk about my experiences using these gifts.

What I Think About Shootings of Blacks and Police Officers

Fine, I’ll dive into this mess.

I’m going to tell you what I think about an explosion of stories about black people…unarmed black people getting shot and killed. We’re starting to see people respond by shooting the police and killing them off.

I don’t think…

Well, look, I’m a brown male in his 20’s. It would appear I’m in the dead zone for my race and gender. My interaction with the police is limited and…sigh…positive.

I also have an uncle who is a police officer. People like him are stuck in the middle: He’s a cop; but he’s black. People expect him to pick a side; it’s a shame. He knows, as well as I do, there are good cops.

We can even say there are a LOT more good cops than bad.

Shooting an unarmed man (black men have been the primary known victims so that’s what I’ll use) is…well, it’s obviously bad. But why?
