Monday Motivation: Control your temper

Oh, this one is something else. If you’re one that tends to lose your cool, even in the smallest way, today is your day to control yourself. You could even make it a week long project.

Grab yourself a stress reliever and squeeze the life out of that thing. When your boss or co-worker does that thing he does, inhale, and keep your cool. Students, focus on the books.

Even if you simply stub your toe on the chair that wasn’t there, let’s just try to push through it. I know I’ve spent a good two minutes yelling at the leg of my bed for getting in my way. I know; I’m talking to myself in this post.

We’re gonna get through this. I’ve never had a temper problem…although I have been told I can get a little out of hand when it comes to my sisters’ safety. I’ll keep my cool.

Let’s get going!

Monday Motivation: Talk to someone new

It’s time to make a new friend today or this week. Maybe there’s a co-worker you don’t know much about. See if you can strike up a conversation. Get some new perspective in your social circle.

I know I gotta get in on this. I rarely talk to people so this will be an adventure for me. Even a simple hello to someone you see around but never really talk to is good.

Even on the internet. I’ll take it. Comment on this post and talk to me. I got you.

The point is to make a new social move today. Different. Fresh.

Now go.

Monday Motivation: Tell A Joke

Here’s a challenge to you today: Tell a joke. Make somebody smile, even if it’s a little corny. It could be a one-liner. Whatever the joke is, tell it. Have some fun today at work or in school.

There’s plenty of jokes here on DALANEL.

So go ahead and tell a joke. You can’t tell me  a joke though because I probably already know it. Ha!

Monday Motivation: Be Yourself Part 2

One of the most liked posts here on DALANEL is a chapter from my book, “Be Yourself”. Welp, I’m going to talk about that chapter in this Monday Motivation. Ya ready?

I’ve always felt that, we should stand up for who we are. No one else can. People will give themselves up for money, love, power, and more. We can’t do that. We gotta stop that.

But how?

Monday Motivation: Speak Life Into Your Situation

In case you missed it, Monday Motivation is a new series I’m running. I share my own words to you in the hopes of motivating you. As you can probably tell, this will show up on Mondays.

This post is based off of one of my favorite posts I wrote: The Power of the Tongue. I suggest you read it so you can better understand where I’m going here, although you’ll still get the gist of my message.

We need to speak life into our situation. Think positive thoughts this week. Our very words are powerful. When we face a situation, keep you head held high. Don’t give up.

From a Christian standpoint, some of us always start their morning with prayer. They speak life into their day before it starts. And many have said there’s a difference. A positive difference.

“I can do it.”

“The day isn’t over yet; I can end it on a high note.”

I’m not saying looking at a lottery ticket and saying “I’m gonna win” 500 times will make you a billionaire. I’m saying that that, as I mentioned in my linked post above, our words can do damage. At first, we may not believe our own words. But, keep speaking them. Over time, things well get better. And soon, you’ll hate even the smallest negative remarks you see, hear, or even think.

Even on the long days, find something. Find something to be thankful because it’s there. “Well at least…” is perfectly acceptable. Keep looking for the new morning because God’s blessings are new each morning.

New Feature: Monday Motivation

I can’t believe I haven’t done this before but, I’m going to attempt to run a new series. Monday Motivation.

As usual, I keep it simple.

It’s what it sounds like. Each Monday morning, I send you a word of encouragement. I’ll offer some kind words. Or maybe I’ll link you to someone who has them. Either way, the goal for the post is to offer motivation to get you through the day, the next day, the next day, and so on. I hope to make this a daily feature but, I want to start off slow. So, the first Monday Motivation will be on the 13th.

So:

  • Daily Good News: Monday-Saturday
  • Dante’s Opinion: Tuesday
  • Wednesday Word: Wednesday (duh)
  • Monday Motivation: Monday (duh)

This is just another way to bring a positive spin on the world. These words will not only speak to you, but they’ll probably speak to me too, and I’ll be speaking most of them. These posts will be from the heart for the most part. And we’ll see if any of the team here wants a crack at it.

I said I would “attempt” to do this because I am not entirely sure I can keep it up. Before I start any series on the blog, I make sure I can find enough material to be able to last for a while. Something to start with. In this case, most of the material is coming directly from me. I must have a sound mind if I’m able to keep it up. I want to do this though. This idea is something I am already behind. It’s part of what I’m trying to do with my other features. So I have to at least give it a run.

Are you ready? What more motivation do you need to look forward to this new feature? Ha!
