Daily Good News 16

I’ve really enjoyed Daily Good News. I think it’s gonna be a hit. December’s off to a nice start, huh? I hope it has for you. Let’s get on to the post.

A 16 year old worked hard to afford his iPad. Next thing you know, it accidentally gets burned in a fired pit. Long story short, a stranger found out about it, and gave the teen a gift card to Best Buy to buy a new one.

This is some fascinating news.

Boffins in Canterbury say they have developed a cancer-detecting breath test machine that could save millions of lives. They claim it can detect the very earliest stages of a wide range of cancers, long before any symptoms appear.

Man, if this works that’s huge.

Okay, that’s all I got for ya.

Sunday: My Day of Rest

I just want to make a quick note. I am no longer going to be posting on Sundays. At least, not consistently. Sunday could be the day I do update posts for the blog. I made this choice for a number of reasons; reasons I can’t tell you…yet. Just know that, in the very near future, I will start to have more responsibilities. And so, I’m setting myself up to not overload.

Also, for similar reasons, Dante’s Opinion is back down to one post per week instead of the two days. Tuesday is the day to look for them. Wednesday Word remains on Wednesday. There is one more announcement, but, I have to wait until the end of the week.

Yeah, there’s a surprise waiting for you at the end of the week. If you follow me on Google+ and/or Twitter, you kinda know what it is. Just so you know, a lot of times, my updates vary from platform to platform. You only get some of the story if you follow just one area vs following me everywhere. Still, some things I have not said at all. In time, this post will make sense to you, my friends.

Trust me.

Weekly Funnies 27

A little collection of jokes and images. That’s what we got going on up in here.

A guy went to visit a friend at the hospital. His friend was all busted up and in several casts. After he determined that his friend would survive and eventually recover, he wanted to know what happened to his friend. Before he could ask, he heard his friend say “Talk dirty to Dr. Laura and she will take you out!” Wow! he thought, an opportunity to go out with Dr. Laura, my friend can wait, if I rush I can catch her at her book signing at the mall.

He got her latest book “Ten Thousand Stupid Things They Thought No One Could Possibly Do – And They Were Wrong”, waited in the signing line and met Dr. Laura. “Let me speak softly in your ear Dr. Laura, I have something private to say to you”, he said. Then he spoke so dirty, he even shocked him self. “What did you say” asked Dr. Laura, thinking she could not have heard what she thought she heard. He repeated it for her.

After a while the paramedics wheeled him into the hospital room next to his friend. He yelled to his friend, “Its your fault I’m in here, you said if I talked dirty to Dr. Laura, she would give me a date”. “Oh no” said his friend “she has a double super black belt in karate. I was warning you about what happened to me. I tried to talk dirty to her and she used that karate and took me out good fashion.”

DALANEL Stats November 2013: A Terrible Blog Improves to Bad

The historic month is over. November out did all of this year. It accounted for one third of the blog’s views for all time. So yeah, this blog had a nice explosion during this month. However, that explosion happened in the second week of the month. After that, viewing has been a joke. So much that I anticipate a huge setback on monthly views. Still, let’s talk about how November went.

For most viewed posts, here’s what you’ve been looking at. By the way, I normally look at the top five, but, for this great month, we’ll look at top ten:

Daily Good News 15

It’s the last month of the year. Let’s see if we can make this the best month of the year.

Are you ready for the latest news? Of course you are!

A man faces two miracles. After getting shot four times while serving in the U.S. Army in Afghanistan, doctors said walking and having kids was pretty close to impossible. Well, Mr. Williams didn’t care. He stepped and humped his was to a miracle.

Doctors told the 29-year-old, who was a corporal in the Queen Alexandria’s Royal Army Nursing Corps, that there was only a five per cent chance of him having kids and almost no chance of walking again.

However Mr Williams, from Islands Brow in Merseyside, can walk short distances with a leg brace and his fiancée Sharon Shaw, also 29, is now six months pregnant.

Yay. Congrats and thanks for your service.

Well, this is something you might have heard about. Apparently, we’re close to a cure for HIV:

Efforts to cure HIV in the past have been thwarted by the virus’s ability to lie dormant inside blood cells without being detected. The new therapy combines standard antiretroviral drugs with two new weapons: a drug that reactivates dormant HIV, and a vaccine that induces the immune system to destroy the infected cells.

Fifty patients in the early stages of HIV infection will take part in the trial. The researchers hope that within months, the stores of hidden HIV in these patients – called the HIV reservoir – will be significantly reduced. They expect to know the results in 2017.

Great. I have one comment but, you would think I’m a party pooper. Let’s just be happy!

A man lost both of his arms in an accident. Thanks to a double arm transplant, he’s back to his old…or new…self:

A Mexican man who received a double arm transplant has now begun to feel his hands after losing both his arms from suffering severe electric shock. Gabriel Granados, a 52-year-old father of two, became the first double arm transplant recipient in Latin America in May 2012.

Nice. The arms came from a 34 year old. Turning back the clock or something.

Okay, well, that’s all for today!
