Police Officers Are Still Heroes

This is my job: To bring a positive spin to the world. We’ve had a wave of cops killing and hurting people. Unarmed people. People of my color. I feel like the media is looking for more stories now than ever to fuel something.

So, of course, now the black people in my circles, who are already skeptical of cops, have a new level of disgust and fear for police officers. I know I’m not alone when I say this: Not all of them are bad people. I believe a strong majority of police officers are not bad people and want to do the best they can. I don’t think race is a factor for these people.

There is corruption everywhere. This is a fact. You cannot escape it. If you enter a situation, thinking it’s not evil like the last place you were at, think again. There is a type of evil everywhere. My job is not to pretend like these bad things are happening. My job is to remind you of the good that’s going on.

With that said, here is a list of recent “good cop” stories. I can only hope it restores your faith in the man in uniform. The hero.

police officer quote 2

Nathan Ernst saved two lives in one night.

It all began on Saturday evening just after 8:30pm when Sgt. Ernst responded to a call of a man who had been found unresponsive in an abandoned home. He quickly discovered the man had overdosed on heroin. Knowing he needed to administer the drug Narcan using a special shot, the man quickly woke up. A little more than two hours later, the call of duty rose once again: this time at a house fire where the heroic cop carried a disabled woman who was bedridden, out of her burning home.

This is what Ernst said:

Thursday at 2 pm

WordPress.com recently shared new ways at looking at site stats. From what I see, Thursday is my move viewed day and 2pm is my most viewed time.

Interesting.

I don’t know why this is. Also, I can only see the top day of the week and the time. I don’t see what is second, third. I don’t see the numbers; I only see percentages.

So, I’m curious if this is legit and if I can take advantage of this. Perhaps save my best for this time slot. Perhaps continue my plans from before. I have this feeling that Thursday is historically the day I post the least on the blog, so this is all surprising.

2 pm is not as surprising. Lunch time reading, I guess.

We’ll see how things play out now that I see these numbers. I might make an effort to post something on this time and day from now on. Maybe I don’t give a f. We don’t know.

Fellow WordPress users: What day and time is your best viewed? Let me know!

I Don’t Know What Happened!

Hey guys. I don’t know how this happened but I went all of May with nothing new coming from DALANEL. May was an interesting month filled with a lot of time consuming work. I did some restructuring of my other blogs and DALANEL continued to sit here.

But, it didn’t stop you from viewing the posts. My best viewing day of the year came in May. Alright, then. When you think about it, it’s okay that I don’t post all of the time. It’s sort of like TV. You get enough episodes in to meet syndication standards. I have enough timeless material that it’s consistently getting action. It’s still impacting people. The motivations, testimonies, sermons. That stuff still works.

Even the funny stuff from the blog’s early days still get high views. All about being timeless. I think what I’ve learned this past month was just how timeless my blog is. Long after I’m gone (or retire from blogging but how could I!?) this blog can still touch someone as if it were first published. Only thing are the news, but that’s another story. Yet, news can be timeless like testimonies of the good in the world.

So, now what?

Tuesday Testimony: Herpes No More!

Before we dive into this Testimony, let me be clear that this story is originally a recent comment on another Testimony post of a healing of Herpes. It just so happens that particular post is by far the most viewed post of the testimonies.

This is why I share these stories on this blog, with the hopes you also decide to share your stories. Faith continues to grow when we hear of the good works of the Lord.

So, in what can be considered the first DALANEL original Tuesday Testimony, here is another story of God vs Herpes:

Daily Good Stuff 242: Girls’ Night Out

It’s a post for the ladies…or about ladies…or featuring ladies. Yeah, featuring ladies.

I think the girl who is able to earn her own living and pay her own way should be as happy as anybody on earth. The sense of independence and security is very sweet. Susan B. Anthony

Proverbs 31:26 She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.

8 things you’ll never hear a woman say…

8. What do you mean today’s our anniversary?

7. Can we not talk to each other tonight? I’d rather just watch TV.

6. Ohh, this diamond is way to big!

5. Can our relationship get a little more physical? I’m tired of being ‘just friends’

4. Honey, does this outfit make my butt look too small?

3. Aww, don’t stop for directions, I’m sure you’ll be able to figure out how to get there.

2. I don’t care if it’s on sale, 300 dollars is way to much for a designer dress.

1. Hey, pull my finger!
