This Week At DALANEL: Birthday Celebration!

DALANEL’s birthday is this week! To be clear, I mean the blog; not me, Dante. On February 14th, this blog turns three years old. It’s walking on sunshine! Jesus can handle the water.

Now, this week is full of fun. I will be taking a look at DALANEL and doing some reflecting. We’re going to laugh, we’re gonna cry (probably from the laughter) and we’ll take a trip down memory lane. We’ll do the featured posts of the past as well. So, DALANEL Review, How Was Your Week, and Daily Good Stuff will all come back to say hello.

So, the featured posts will post as usual. As for the three new guys, they will post as I used to post them. So, DALANEL Review will appear on Thursday. How Was Your Week will pop up on Friday. Daily Good Stuff? Well, I’m not doing each day of the week. I’ll plop that post on Wednesday.

But wait! There’s more! There’s a category on the blog called “Before DALANEL”. Those posts are from the days when this blog was known as Dante’s Opinion. And yes, we have a featured post that keeps that idea alive. However, I will be doing a retro Dante’s Opinion post. Mhm, so check out that category to get an idea of the voice I used in those posts because it’s different than DALANEL’s voice. And wait until you hear about what I’ll be talking about.

I couldn’t confirm anybody from Team DALANEL contributing for the week. If they post, I’ll be surprised. I was hoping they would because they are a part of this blog. But, oh well.

Is there a hidden surprise waiting at the end of the week? Well, each of the posts this week will hint at some sort of announcement. So, you’re gonna have to read up. And no, I won’t be linking back. So, if I say “as you know” and you don’t know, you better find out!

Yes, this week is aiming to celebrate where I came from while looking on to the future. Isn’t that what a birthday celebration is about?

Daily Good Stuff 237: Mom’s Birthday

So, I haven’t done this in a long time but, I promised myself I would do my mom’s birthday. Already did me and my two sisters and dad. Last member of the fam is mom. In case you don’t know, Daily Good Stuff is a collection of quotes, scripture, funny videos, funny images, jokes, weird/funny news, positive/good news, holidays, and interesting facts.

Even though I stopped doing these posts, views show that DGS remains a top viewed post. Out of my top 20 viewed posts, DGS is in ten spots. Weekly Funnies posts take up three other spots. You clearly like funny stuff but that’s simply not my focus anymore. Should I bring it back? Probably, if I want explosive views. Will I bring it back? Not likely.

It’s a themed post of course so things will be birthday related.

It’s been a while; hope I still got it.

Daily Good Stuff 133: It’s My Birthday!

Hey finally it’s here. It’s my birthday! Time to celebrate! And how do we do that? With birthday themed stuff. Unlike previous posts, I’m going to post in random order with my favorite birthday stuff. This post is gonna be packed with good stuff. Join me in my celebration!

First, a story. I remember many years ago I was at this kid’s party. He was turning 3 or 4. Anyway, it’s time for the cake. By this time, I was ready to go home. I didn’t want to be there in the first place. And I’m about six years older than him so yeah. So we finally sing happy birthday and now he’s gonna blow out the candles. And he tried… He leaned over the cake to try and blow the candles out. He did it. But he also slipped on the table and fell into the cake. When he was pulled up, his entire face was imprinted on the cake. I didn’t eat the cake but that was just the funniest thing I’d seen at that time of my life. Made being there worthwhile.

A couple had been debating the purchase of a new auto for weeks. He wanted a new truck. She wanted a fast little sports-like car so she could zip through traffic around town. He would probably have settled on any beat up old truck, but everything she seemed to like was way out of their price range. “Look!” she said. “I want something that goes from 0 to 200 in 4 seconds or less. And my birthday is coming up. You could surprise me.” So, for her birthday, he bought her a brand new bathroom scale.

Daily Good Stuff 83: Birthday Party!

Today is one of my sister’s birthday. But wait, she’s 16. Yeah, so it’s a big deal. So of course we have to do a birthday theme post.  The special part of my sister’s birthday is that we’re a month away from mine, and boy do I have a big party in store for the whole month.
