Monday Motivation: Be silly

That’s right. Today is a day to do something silly. Be wacky.

It’s time to shock a couple of people, especially if you’re not a silly person at heart. It’s time to have some fun.

But, for the love of jeebus, don’t get fired. Don’t kill anybody. I don’t know. Maybe you can wear a silly hat. Wear a wacky tie. Change your ringtone to something. Speak with another accent (I don’t care how bad it is).

I’m a believer that laughter is the best medicine. So, either you shake things up for yourself, or for others.

Good News Friday: Boy raises $750k for sick friend

This story is adorable.

So, a boy, Dylan Siegel, wanted to help his friend, Jonah Pournazarian. Here’s Jonah’s story:

If she doesn’t, Jonah could die because he has a rare form of glycogen storage disease, a hereditary disorder that means his liver can store sugar but can’t release it, causing him to have dangerously low blood sugar levels that can result in seizures or even death.

“She” is Jonah’s mom, who has to wake up in the middle of the night to check up and feed Jonah.

Now, Jonah’s doctor was basically out of funding money to treat this rare disease. And so, Dylan decided to step in.

Wednesday Word, Monday Motivation, and Good News Friday

I’ve been struggling with the recent Good Friday play at my church. As I continue to lick my wounds, I realized that I need to get back on the blogging horse.

For one day only, I present a post containing your Wednesday Word, Monday Motivation, and Good News Friday. These are the flagship posts here at DALANEL.

Even though the site hasn’t seen a new post in a week, the views have been really good, which kinda means that this blog is capable of sustaining itself even with my lack of posting. This blog has timeless content that brings people in no matter what current events are going on. That’s cool.

Wednesday Word: Witnessing with love

Let me first say that this video has my tone of voice ALL OVER IT. This guy, Nate, was on point. Take a listen:

I mean, I ranted about this in my book. The end of the video was a little odd and leaves a mystery yet to be solved as that’s his last video to date.

I already talked about this in my book, like I said.

Nate said it. We should love people. Love the unsaved. That’s it. It really is. Jesus had to do the same thing. Everybody was unsaved and He loved all of us.

Good Friday 6: One death saves lives

We’ve got one long story for you today. Are you ready?

A story. A girl is dying:

At age 2, Lyndsey was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, a genetic disease which causes mucus to build up in the lungs. Dr. Joshua Sonett, the chief of thoracic surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center, treated Lyndsey. In 2011, when he looked at her x-rays, Dr. Sonett said he could see that Lyndsey’s right lung was hugely inflated and that over time, she had lost function in part of her left lung, which contained scar tissue.

“Just imagine is I took 80 percent of your lung away, how you would function,” Dr. Sonett said. “Lyndsey is going to die is she doesn’t get her lung soon.”

Wednesday Word: Made in God’s image

Here’s the video:

You know, I don’t have to talk about much.

I do want to go into how we are made in God’s image. The young lady didn’t hit on it.

It all starts with Adam. The Trinity was discussing how they wanted a creation to be in their image and likeness. The world has an interpretation of this. We look at the physical. But, God is not physical. He is not flesh. Yes, Jesus eventually came as God in the flesh. But, obviously, people had been around for a long time.

If you want to know how we are made in God’s image, we have to look at God’s first man. He created Adam out of dust, which always blows my freakin’ mind. Anyway, Adam was not alive until one particular action.
