Weekly Funnies 28: The Return

Alright, I gotta make up my mind. This is the second relaunch of this feature. It’s served me well though giving me tops daily views. So, I gotta bring it back. I’ll post them on Friday. The usual jokes, videos, and images are all up for grabs. Plus, I’ll add whatever else funny I see like news or quotes.

There’s a story behind it though. See, my girl Nia was actually working on a series related to this. What was cool about it was that she started working on it; I didn’t have to ask her. Unfortunately, she eventually called it off. Right before she did, I decided that funny stuff should indeed make a return to the blog. Either her feature would take it or I would bring this back.

Honestly, I hope she can eventually launch her own series. If not, she can at least post some funnies. But yeah, she wasn’t able to handle a weekly posting (I would’ve helped her but I preferred she do most of the posting). Anyway, I’m gonna try to get her to post here. Daniel already offered to help me out with the Weekly Funnies too.

Are ya ready? Let’s go!

Thoughts on Wednesday Word and being a Christian blogger

Wednesday Word has been a good success. It consistently gets likes and is even one of the top liked posts of all time. I’m really excited about this because this was a post I had been putting off for almost a year now.

So, what happens now? Well, the video and my commentary remains. I’m not doing anything to it. I just wanted to talk about it a little bit.

Wednesday word is really the only thing on this blog that shows off my “religious” side. Sure, I have the “Accept Jesus” page and I’ve shared my book with you which is entirely Christian themed. Still, I didn’t have a feature that gave off that type of vibe. In my Daily Good Stuff posts, I did always share a scripture. That was it.

I used to have a Christian blog, which was suppose to be a continuation of my book in a sense. But, I ended up just pulling it into this blog.

This blog is a positive themed blog and, I can’t necessarily say that this also means that it’s a religious blog. I can’t say they go hand in hand, ya know?

So, does Wednesday Word have a place in this blog? Does Christian blogging have a place in this blog? Did I make a mistake?

Good News 56: Boy saves six, dies a hero; Advancement in cancer research

healthy-eating-quote

I want to say, I typically stay away from people dying and making the ultimate sacrifice. That’s for reasons even I don’t understand. So, why did I change up this time? Because a kid saved the day.

Before I continue, I also want to say there’s a couple of holes in this story. However, I am not going to hit on those because I want this as positive as possible. And, again, I like the story.

An 8 year old boy died while trying to save his grandfather.

Tyler Doohan was being called a hero by firefighters on Wednesday, two days after the early morning fire tore through the grandfather’s home in a trailer park in Penfield, killing the boy, his grandfather and his uncle. Six other relatives — four adults and children ages 4 and 6 — were rescued because of Tyler’s actions, officials said.

So, Tyler was awaken by a burning blanket, the blanket belonging to the 4 year old, who turned out to be his cousin. He notified his family and they all got out. He then went back inside to try to help his pop-pop. When it was all said and done, little Tyler was just a few feet from his grandfather. There was also an uncle in another part of the trailer.

This is something extra:

An online fundraising campaign set up on YouCaring.com has raised more than $30,000 for Tyler’s funeral.

Now, I don’t know if that fundraising campaign is still active or not but, if ya want to donate, that’d be swell.

Tyler died a hero, and that’s all that counts.

Next, there’s some advancement in the cancer front:

Dr Ricardo Del Sol, Senior Lecturer, ILS Swansea University, commented: “These results are a clear indication of the potential for PointMan to enable the use of a blood sample to assess the mutation status of cancer patients. We look forward to continuing this important work with EKF Molecular to validate our findings.”

Basically, we could have a new way of testing blood on the mutations of cancer. A better way that would mean less invasive testing for patients.

Alright, so that’s it. Bye.

Trying Something Out…

Hello.

Yeah, you may have noticed that I haven’t posted any Daily Good News this week. For Monday, I didn’t plan to because Daily Good Stuff made a little return.

Daily Good News has struggled. Its first 55 posts have under performed compared to Daily Good Stuff first 55, and these days I’m getting even more views than I did before. Don’t get me wrong, the good news isn’t going anywhere. Screw that. We need good news.

See, Monday has its motivation, Tuesday has its opinion, Wednesday has its word, and Friday is about to have a feature. Thursday’s slot is open. So, I’ll post good news on Thursday

So, there is a possibility that I could call off the “Daily” part of the good news and just have it on Thursdays. That way, I got something for each day of the week. Saturday would probably be empty and I don’t post on Sundays. The odds of this happening are low right now but I would like to try this out.

Wednesday Word: Do we question God’s sovereignty?

Boy, this was a good one in my opinion. Here’s your Wednesday Word:

So, what was he saying? One thing he said in there was that, by Children of God complaining, we can look like we are indeed not satisfied with God’s performance. And, in a lot of instances, that’s true. We tend to complain and, a part of it is us thinking we could do a better job.

Allow me to introduce myself as new member of Team DALANEL

Hello everybody! I’m Daniel, Dante’s best friend. He was gonna introduce me but he’s kinda retarded when it comes to introducing people. I’m cocky. I know myself. Let me take care of myself.

You can call me Danny.

Ladies, I’m your man. Let’s just get that out of the way. Kids, I’m your friend. That’s right.

Blogging experience? Not much. But, I’ve helped Dante with a lot of ideas over the course of the years he’s been blogging. I’ll be helping out in a few areas on the blog; mainly the new feature he mentioned earlier. So, you’ll probably hear from me on Friday’s.

Dante is like my brother. I love that dude to death. It could be homo. And it might not be. Who cares? I care about him and this blog. And I’m happy to contribute in any way I can.

Yeah, that’s enough of me. Follow me on Twitter. I’m out.
