There Is A Storm Coming. A Positive Storm

Look in the skies. I hope you have good insurance coverage, because there is a storm coming. It’s brewing for quite some time, but forecasts weren’t completely sure of its impact until now. Next Friday, July 24th, there is a storm coming to the internet.

My sources tell me that this storm is actually a helpful one. A positive one. Apparently, such a storm isn’t rain or thunder. This isn’t a hurricane or tornado. This is a storm of good news. The impact of such a storm is constant. Apparently, every hour of the 24th, there will be a good or positive news story published.

Experts say that this storm is running at the same time as another storm on Dante’s Funny World. Both of these storms seem to be on purpose though. This isn’t a random occurrence. The owner of this blog and Dante’s Funny World is sending this storm as a representation of a birthday. His birthday.

What better way to celebrate blogging and birthday than to party all day long with posts that make these blogs as successful as they are?

We have a quote from the owner of the blogs

I’m trying to prepare for this storm. In order to do that, I gotta shut my daily posts down for a time so I can pull all resources to survive the storm.

Interesting. So, what about you, the readers? How can you survive the storm? Well, you can always turn on alerts so that when the storm makes it hourly strike, you’ll know it. F5 is your friend. Do what it takes so that this storm doesn’t pass you by without it impacting you. Yes, you need this storm. We all do.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a bunker to hide in.

The Daily Positive: Policeman Helps Shoplifting Mother

help yourself

The title may seem off but it’s true. A mother was caught shoplifting and the policeman called to the scene decided to help this struggling mother of six.

Sarah Robinson, a mother of six from Kansas City, Kansas, went to a Walmart store earlier this month, after running out of diapers for her 2-year-old twin daughters, ABC News reported. The family had fallen on hard times after Robinson’s husband died a few years ago and without money to buy what she needed, the mother tried to steal diapers, wipes and shoes.

The officer listened to Robinson’s story and learned that the family had been struggling financially. After issuing Robinson a citation for theft, Engraville went into Walmart and used his own money to purchase the items the family needed, The Kansas City Star reported.

But it doesn’t stop there.

Following the incident, Police Chief John Morris and Sgt. Randy Costlow helped Robinson set up a bank account, Prairie Village Post reported. And as the news of Engravalle’s good deed spread, local radio stations also got involved in helping the family. Hosts of KMBZ’s radio show “Dana and Parks” put out a call for donations and brought in more than $6,000 for the family. KCMO, another station, organized a donation drive to collect some basic essentials for the family as well as other monetary donations.

The Daily Positive: Man Gives Kidney to Neighbor

healthy-eating-quote

Nice story, as the title would suggest.

Shad, a 42-year-old father living just around the corner from Charlie in Derry, donated a kidney to his neighbor in May. Charlie and Shad met about 13 years ago through Shad’s wife Amy, who grew up in Belmont, Mass., with Charlie. The pair lost touch following high school, but discovered they were neighbors again — this time in Derry — when they ran into one another at a doctor’s office around the time of Charlie’s first transplant.

Quite a story in the link.

The Daily Positive: Family Pays for Strangers’ Meal

act of kindness

Huh, this was an odd story as I began reading. But, it’s a good one.

25-year-old Lisa McConnell had just finished a meal at the Barbican Pasta Bar on Saturday evening with her two friends, Amiee and Amanda, and was about to pay her bill at the bar when staff informed the trio that the tab had already been picked up by another customer.

While staff withheld the identity of the mystery diner, it was only when the three girls exited the restaurant that a woman revealed it was her husband, sat at a nearby table with his family and friends, who had generously paid the bill.

The woman later explained why they decided to pay for the dinner:

Choosing to remain anonymous, she said: “We don’t want anybody to know who we are, but I saw the story and I just thought what a wonderful thing for them to try and do to reach us.

“But it was thanks enough just seeing their faces on Saturday evening. The reason we decided to pay the bill was because we were out with our children and, as has happened before, we were concerned other people might use bad language.

“The girls were just so pleasant the whole evening and it was refreshing to see a group of youngsters enjoying their evening in such a polite manner.

The Daily Positive: Students Build Home After Custodian Loses it to Fire

giving

Brenda Hurst lost her home to a fire. So here’s what happened:

A group of teens enrolled in the school’s career center knew exactly what to do, and decided to put the construction skills they were learning to good use.

Working alongside volunteers from a group called “Carpenters for Christ” and making use of donations that poured in from the school and the community of Campobello, they were able to rebuild Hurst’s house in a little over a year’s time.

That’s an amazing story right there. Read all of it.

The Daily Positive: Verizon Wireless Donates Against Domestic Violence

optimism

I love it when big corporations take time to help those in need. Verizon Wireless took a step in that direction.

Eric Letourneau, the manager of the Shrewsbury Verizon Wireless store at 77 Boston Turnpike, presented checks to representatives of the two organizations, Employers Against Domestic Violence (EADV) and Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) of Central Mass., in a short ceremony held at the store. EADV received a check for $20,000 and YWCA received $10,000.

Quick math says $30,000 in donations. Here’s hoping that more corporations do the same. Maybe they do and I just haven’t found them yet……….

Anyway, there’s a lot in this link for the story. I suggest you take a look.
