Daily Good Stuff 239

Well what about that? Daily Good Stuff returns. We’re picking up where we last left off here at DALANEL.

This feature helped bring DALANEL to a high following status and really put me on the map. It’s been over a year since I last posted on a consistent basis, but it continues to get the majority of blog views on a daily basis.

So, for this week, we’ll look at DGS, the first daily post type of DALANEL. Most of the featured posts that followed were various forms of this post. When I started my “funny” blog, I took these elements there as well.

Thing was, this blog used to be known for humor as well as what you see now. I essentially split those up so that humor had its own spot while positive had DALANEL.

Alright, I bet you’re tired of the talk. Before we start, let me tell you what DGS posts looked like in its prime. We had a quote, scripture, video, image (usually funny), joke, funny and/or weird news, positive news, and a holiday. I’ll probably post all but the holiday. Are you ready for a blast from my past?

Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always. Psalm 105:4

That’s happened to me before!

How about a video? I think a video is good.

Fearless Friday: Teen Girls Save Man’s Life

A couple of best friends saw a man was in need of CPR and they jumped on the case.

It was about 9 p.m. Nicole Enick pulled over in the parking lot of the McDonald’s off Marine Drive NE. The girls noticed a man in a nearby car wasn’t moving. The man’s friends were gathered around, shaking him and dumping cold water on him. Others were standing around, watching.
Hailey and Jasmine knew what to do. The Everett High School freshmen had recently taken CPR training from their health teacher, Darrell Olson.

Yes, the girls did what they were told in school.

From class, they knew not to stop, Hailey said. After about five minutes, the man started gasping for air. Hailey’s little sister, Meleah, 11, watched it all take place. A few minutes later, police and paramedics arrived and took over. One of the police officers on scene told the girls the man wouldn’t have made it without their CPR, Hailey said. They believed the man, who appeared to be in his 30s, had a drug overdose.

This last quote from mom is sadly true.

“We’re so proud of her,” Nicole Enick said. “I’m so amazed. She was 14 and she was able to keep herself together. You never expect people at a young age to be able to do something like that. Other people just look away.”

Can we change that? Let’s change that.

Wednesday Word: God is with you

Tuesday Testimony: Healed in the name of Jesus

From Testimony Share:

In Acts 3-12,13,Peter mentions to the crowd after he healed the cripple in Christ name,

“Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this? Or why look so intently at us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk? 13 The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His Servant Jesus,”

My testimony of the greatness of the name of JESUS : I am an animal lover. In my locality, I know every dog that roams on the street. Among these is a beautiful golden fellow who I named Fluffy, because of his glorious fur. To my dismay in the month of October, he got mange and became a mess…itching, bleeding, scaly and his fur all fell out. I was so upset and didn’t know how to help him. Suddenly the thought came to my head, if I cant heal a dog then my faith is not much! A dog is flesh: no spirit. All flesh follows my spirit because

“He who is within me is stronger than he who is in the world.” 1John 4:4

Every time I passed Fluffy on my errands, I would just say

“be healed in the name of Christ Jesus”.

Friends within days, he stopped itching, started eating. He was so grey and disgusting but I was searching for his healing and I could see it happening! the itching stopped, the bleeding stopped, started gaining weight, FUR STARTED GROWING.

Today he is back to his old self. That dog is a testimony to the Name of Jesus!

I have one more to relate. My mother in law is unsaved as yet. In December she contracted a terrible cough. She couldn’t sleep AT ALL. She is not exactly supportive of my faith to put it mildly. I kept on having the urge to give her the Word to claim but each time I would withdraw in the fear of being ridiculed. But one night the cough was so bad that I just went and in the name of Christ prayed and rebuked that illness. Friends that cough just dried out and didn’t return.

In both these instances, I was relying totally only on His name. A dog will never condone my faith 🙂 and neither would mummy, but in both instances, I was convicted my faith and His name is enough! and it WAS.

Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces. – Psalm 34:5

Praise the Lord!!!

Monday Motivation: Stay in your lane

blessed light

Sometimes, we’re comparing ourselves to others. We look at what other people are doing and start doing what they do. Problem with that is, everybody is doing something different so now you’re doing one thing, five different ways.

Just because other people are doing things, doesn’t mean those things are meant for you. People have things that you simply are not meant to have. People are in places where you are not meant to be. Maybe not now. Maybe never.

So, instead of worrying about where others are, focus on yourself. Stay in your lane, babe.

This is your path. Your future. As unique as everyone is, your path is not the same exact path as someone else’s. Understand this.

As long as you are doing what God tells you to do, there’s no reason why you should focus on others and what they are doing and where they are going.

Regular DALANEL Posting to Return

Hey,

Really quick, I just wanted to say that Monday Motivation, Tuesday Testimony, Wednesday Word, Thursday Thought, Fearless Friday, and The Daily Positive are returning this Monday.

I’ve been working hard on the Good Friday play at my church. Lighting. And it has been a very…stressful run so far. In fact, I’ve decided it’ll be my last production. Anything can happen, but it just…sigh…it’s a shame when things don’t work out.

I hope you’ve been enjoying the Bible Light series. I plan on doing other mini series here on DALANEL. It keeps the weekly posting fresh and keeps the blog active with new material.

With the play out of the way, I have energy to put back into this blog. I need a lighting break so bad. The service lighting launch and the play have really fried my circuits. I thought about stopping lighting altogether but the service lighting is too new and my team is not ready to be on their own so I have to keep pushing on.

Let’s not forget other stuff going on like work and school. Just a lot going on. In a drastic scenario, where lighting vs writing comes into play, lighting would lose very easily. As I’ve said plenty of times before, I would rather write a play before I light it.

Anyway, DALANEL is ready to make a comeback. I hope you missed me because I’m gonna be in your face.
