Monday Motivation: Share a Joke

It’s okay to laugh, ya know.

I want you to share a joke today with a classmate…coworker…friend…neighbor on the train…somebody.

Here’s mine:

There was a Minister whose wife was expecting a baby. The Minister went to the congregation and asked for a raise. After much consideration and discussion, they passed a rule that when the Minister’s family expanded, so would his pay check.

After five or six children, this started to get expensive. The congregation decided to hold a meeting again to discuss the Minister’s pay situation. You can imagine there was much yelling and bickering. Finally, the Minister got up and spoke to the crowd, “Having children is an act of God!”

In the back of the room, a little old man with a full beard stood up, and in his frail voice said… “Snow and Rain are also ‘acts of God’, but when we get too much, we wear rubbers!”

Like this one? I GUESS you can share it. I encourage you to search for one on your own though. Search on this blog or my blog designated to hold jokes.

DALANEL Continues to Fight for Good

DALANEL has always been a weapon of mine to counter the negativity of the world. I try to bring a positive spin to the world.

Currently, these are the ways I attack:

  • Monday Motivation
  • Tuesday Testimony
  • Wednesday Word
  • Thursday Thoughts
  • Fearless Friday

Each post provides a unique spin on things. I create Monday Motivations on my own. Testimonies, Thoughts, and Fearless are outsourced. Wednesday Word is a combination of the two.

I’ve spent years molding this blog and its features to carry this vision. I will continue to. The idea that I’m making an impact is a good one. 1,600 people can’t be wrong, right? That’s how many people follow this blog. Google+, Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, WordPress, Email, and LinkedIn. Many people, many backgrounds. But, they can appreciate what is going on here.

I’m hardly the only site with the same purpose in mind. However, I’m pretty sure I’m the only guy doing it the way I am.

I recently read a story of a girl, with the help of her little sister, who killed their older brother. He locked her in a closet. Apparently, this is what the parents did to punish her. The parents had left, and big brother was in charge. His sister…I GUESS, needed to be disciplined and big bro did what he saw his parents do. Lock her up.

Monday Motivation: Claim your year

2015 is better than 2014. You have to claim it. This is the year you become great. If you’re already great, be greater. Raise the bar of your life. Set a higher standard. 2014 was awesome. You made it. Now it’s time to take on 2015.

Claim your year. Claim it right now. You must do it. The power of the tongue is real. So go and speak life into your year. You will rise. Your family will rise. Your friends will rise. Your career will rise. Your academic performance will rise.

It all starts with you claiming it.

Monday Motivation: Take a Seat

Hm, how about that? Take a seat? What does that mean?

I mean, take a seat. Sit down. Breathe for a minute. Things are constant in this world these days. Can we just sit down and pee for a minute? Can we eat something…and focus on the food?

Take a seat. Relax when you can. Some say you can rest when you finish the race. I think, in some cases, if you work yourself to death, you ain’t finishin’ nothin’.

Excuse me. I meant, you aren’t going to finish anything. Good grief.

Anyway, let’s slow down if only for a moment. Observe. Study.

Look at me, asking for this on a Monday. But that makes it all the more challenging. Love yourself. Find time for yourself.

Take a seat.

The best of Monday Motivation

I should tell you all (though you may have already noticed) that I’ve been spending my blogging energy on my lighting blog DLN Stage Lighting. It’s a blog about lighting, but it is also home to my lighting crew from my church.

Anyway, I have returned to DALANEL. This week, I’ll be looking at past posts of my weekly features. This is mainly because I am still working on the lighting blog and also because I’m struggling to find content.

So, what are some of my favorite motivations?

Remember one of my first ones? Tell a Joke. I tried to encourage people to be funny that day.

I liked the one where I ended up motivating people to motivate others.

Let’s remember to do our research before we accept or reject information as fact.

This one was of passion and fire. Fight back. The world is trying to take you out, but be strong.

Which Monday Motivation spoke to you the most?

Monday Motivation: Golden Rule

Stop me if you heard this before: Treat others the way you want to be treated. Blah, blah, blah.

You heard it before, most likely.

It’s really simple.

Treat people the way you want to be treated. Look at people as if you’re constantly looking into a mirror. Do you love the person you see? Would you say hurtful things to that person or give encouragement?

Yes, I know you’re the sexiest beast out there, but consider that all the people you run into are reflections of you. I mean, if you treat yourself like crap, that’s a shame, but I guess nobody can get mad if you follow the golden rule. But, I think most of us treat ourselves in a very positive, dignified way.
