Weekly Funnies 24

Another round up of some funny stuff on the web. Are you ready? I can’t hear you! No, really, I can’t. Sorry.

At Sunday School they were teaching how God created everything, including human beings. Little Johnny, a child in the Kindergarten class, seemed especially intent when they told him how Eve was created out of one of Adam’s ribs.

Later in the week his mother noticed him lying down as though he were ill, and asked, “Johnny, what is the matter?”

Little Johnny groaned and responded , “I have a pain in my side. I think I’m going to have a wife.”

My laptop or WordPress is struggling with photos today so darn it darn it darn it.

15 Followers from Completing Social Media Challenge

I wrote about a month ago how I had a goal to get to 800 followers before 2014. I did the math of how many followers I would need per day, week, and I think month. Welp, it’s going better than expected.

In case you don’t know, my following comes from Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Tumblr, Google+, and WordPress users. Most of the new follows have come from WordPress and Tumblr so big thanks to ya. Twitter, LinkedIn, and G+ helped as well. Facebook actually hasn’t grown much and I rarely get traffic from there even though it’s my largest following.

Still, I am only 15 followers, as I write this, away from the goal. A big thanks to all of you for following me. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves here: It’s the content of the blog that you’re following. Not necessarily me. I also noticed a spike of follows as I stopped writing personal stuff. So, I will also keep this in mind. Just as I suspected, it’s not me you want; it’s the Daily Good Stuff and the Weekly features on the weekends. I mean, even looking at the most view posts stats I can see that too.

You can read my original post here.

Again, if you want to be a part of this, just head over to the Join DALANEL page and be a part of a growing leader in the world of positive blogging!

Page Updates

One thing I didn’t think about doing during the blog shutdown was re-adding a page that used to be here. Join DALANEL! is back up. This is your chance to join me on the site Just take a look at the page for all of the sexy details. I took it down because I gave up adding a few bloggers here. But, I’ll leave it up; I think as this blog gets bigger, somebody will eventually want some of this.

However, there’s a couple of changes to pages. Blog Network actually has entirely new content; content that was a post here on DALANEL. “A New DALANEL Goal: Be Part of A Blog Network” is the name of the post. I put all of that information in Blog Network.

Meanwhile, I took all of the content that used to be in Blog Network and just added it to the Writing Career page. It seemed to make a little more sense.

Lastly, I promised a video on my Accept Jesus page but I didn’t anticipate YouTube giving me so much grief. I can tell you that it is up so go ahead and check out the video.

I’ll still be making minor tweaks in the background in the upcoming days. Thanks for hanging in there and keep the feedback coming via comment and/or poll.

New DALANEL Features…The New DALANEL Part Two

And here we go with the second update on the new look.

First, for Daily Good Stuff. I have added two ne features: Interesting Fact of the Day. And, Today’s Holiday. I’m still working on a third feature.

Next is a new weekly feature that almost because the third new DGS feature. Wednesday Word is where I find a short sermon vis video and post it here. And then, I add my own commentary. It should be fun. And, again, that will be on Wednesday.

DGS is still out for the week as I seek out that new feature. I also won’t start the Wednesday word until next week. In the meantime, I still have tweaks to deal with; mostly behind the scenes stuff.

Go to DALANEL Polls and vote! Yeesh. I’m really interested in what you guys think of this site. There’s a poll asking how you like the new layout.

Welcome Back…The New DALANEL Part One

The site is back online! DALANEL makes a return and I’m gonna let ya know what the heck I did.

You like the new theme? Me too. I’m gonna try it out for a while but I think it’s a keeper. I want to hear your feedback on it though.

Okay, so I’m going to split the updates into two posts. This post will talk about the page updates and various widgets and such. The next one will talk about the new features of Daily Good Stuff as well as the new weekly feature. That will be tomorrow. I don’t want to overload you with so much in one post, ya know?

So, let’s talk about the new theme.

DALANEL Going Offline 11/04/13

Like I said, things are changing. I’m going to be experimenting with things. For those of you that are regulars, you already have noticed a couple of things. From 1-4 am EST, I will take down DALANEL and make my final changes, including a possible site theme.

Pages will be changed to better reflect me. One example of the changes is a lot less talking about me and more about the site itself. This blog is named after me and represents me but, some things don’t have to be said.

I probably won’t need the full three hours to make all of the changes but, I want to make sure I have enough time so I don’t rush anything. If I’m done before 4am, I will republish the site.

I want to thank you for your support as I continue to try to make this a better blog. Of course, this goes appearance-wise. I’m looking intently to adding one or two new features to Daily Good Stuff and of course my blogging style is going to slowly change during the month. I might even have a new weekly featured post. The fact that I won’t be doing a lot of personal posts means you won’t really notice the change in my writing style until December, where things really get interesting with the cantata and thoughts on 2014 and more.

How long will these changes be in effect? I don’t know; but I’m hoping for a long time, unless a better theme comes along or something. But, since the blog’s direction is still the same, major changes shouldn’t be made. Once the site is back on, I’ll a guide for dealing with the changes. For instance, names of a couple of pages will be changed. I’ll let you know what it used to be called so you’ll know where to go for whatever. I hope you’re excited about the future as I am.
