Wednesday Word: Do we question God’s sovereignty?

Boy, this was a good one in my opinion. Here’s your Wednesday Word:

So, what was he saying? One thing he said in there was that, by Children of God complaining, we can look like we are indeed not satisfied with God’s performance. And, in a lot of instances, that’s true. We tend to complain and, a part of it is us thinking we could do a better job.

Allow me to introduce myself as new member of Team DALANEL

Hello everybody! I’m Daniel, Dante’s best friend. He was gonna introduce me but he’s kinda retarded when it comes to introducing people. I’m cocky. I know myself. Let me take care of myself.

You can call me Danny.

Ladies, I’m your man. Let’s just get that out of the way. Kids, I’m your friend. That’s right.

Blogging experience? Not much. But, I’ve helped Dante with a lot of ideas over the course of the years he’s been blogging. I’ll be helping out in a few areas on the blog; mainly the new feature he mentioned earlier. So, you’ll probably hear from me on Friday’s.

Dante is like my brother. I love that dude to death. It could be homo. And it might not be. Who cares? I care about him and this blog. And I’m happy to contribute in any way I can.

Yeah, that’s enough of me. Follow me on Twitter. I’m out.

Dante’s Opinion: Would you be ok knowing you’re a minority hire?

Alright, kids! It’s another round of questions. Our first question is from Dante:

Would you be ok knowing you’re a minority hire? I know companies do have to have a certain amount of their workforce to be minorities. If you found out that you were hired, more based off of skin than actual qualification, would you be okay with that?

Wow, good question. The only jobs I’ve had were nothing serious. I think because they were jobs that barely required anything, if I were a minority hire, I probably wouldn’t mind. But, some “better” jobs for last of word, would it matter then?

Personally, I don’t think I would mind initially. For one thing, I kinda feel like…forcing people to have to hire certain people sucks. If it just so happens that white men are the only people qualified for a position, does that mean it’s racist? But, to avoid having to deal with angry minorities, we’ve made these rules.

Being a minority hire probably means the company didn’t think I was as qualified and so my salary might be lower. That’s something I might not like; since I’m doing the same work as others not my race.

Sure, most likely we’ll never find out that we are a minority hire; at least from the people hiring us, but that’s something I think about every once in a while. And yes, I would be okay with it.

Next question is from Tom:

Why my WordPress followers are my favorite

Oh Lord, what did I do!? I don’t look at my followings from various places as my kids. I do have a favorite following.

Huh, I guess I do look at you all as my kids. I know for a fact my baby sister is the favorite of the three of us. My parents deny it; but it’s true.

I guess my favorite kid is WordPress. Ya know, when I first joined WP and was trying to understand terminology, I came across publicize. You could connect your social media accounts to the blog. Apparently, the blog used at least the numbers from Twitter, Tumblr and Facebook as well as the blog itself as to give one number: You following. At least, that’s how I figured it out. When I put in the “Follow Blog” widget, when I check the little box to show the number of followers, I noticed it was bigger than the blog’s actual following. After doing some math, that’s how I came to my conclusion. I just wonder why G+, LinkedIn, and Path aren’t a part of it. But, whenever I talk about my following, I mention each of those areas in publicize.

Daily Good Stuff 237: Mom’s Birthday

So, I haven’t done this in a long time but, I promised myself I would do my mom’s birthday. Already did me and my two sisters and dad. Last member of the fam is mom. In case you don’t know, Daily Good Stuff is a collection of quotes, scripture, funny videos, funny images, jokes, weird/funny news, positive/good news, holidays, and interesting facts.

Even though I stopped doing these posts, views show that DGS remains a top viewed post. Out of my top 20 viewed posts, DGS is in ten spots. Weekly Funnies posts take up three other spots. You clearly like funny stuff but that’s simply not my focus anymore. Should I bring it back? Probably, if I want explosive views. Will I bring it back? Not likely.

It’s a themed post of course so things will be birthday related.

It’s been a while; hope I still got it.

You know you’re getting old when the candles cost more than the cake. Bob Hope

Monday Motivation: Be Yourself Part 2

One of the most liked posts here on DALANEL is a chapter from my book, “Be Yourself”. Welp, I’m going to talk about that chapter in this Monday Motivation. Ya ready?

I’ve always felt that, we should stand up for who we are. No one else can. People will give themselves up for money, love, power, and more. We can’t do that. We gotta stop that.

But how?
